Kirk services online National Call to Prayer Locked Down: A Prayer The Lords Prayer: Christians stand in solidarity

On 5th July 1620, Longside Kirk Session met for the first time after the building of the new outreach kirk in Longside. It would be another 21 years before the establishment of Longside Parish when, in 1641 the building became the Parish Church. It now stands as a stately roofless ruin adjacent to the new Church building opened in 1836.
A series of events was planned to celebrate the 400th anniversary, but all have had to be shelved because of the covid-19 restrictions. A major exhibition was to be held to mark the 400 years of the Kirk as the centre of Parish life and to showcase the Church’s plans for the future, a future which we are being told may be very different from what went before.
